Arty housing association residents are being given the chance to win up to £70 in gift vouchers and see their work on display in the Vale Housing Association’s art and craft competition. The association, based in Abingdon, will hold 4 heats in Abingdon, Botley, Faringdon and Wantage in February followed by a final at the Vale and Downland Museum on 10th March. 2 people from each heat will be selected to go through to the final which will be judged by local artist Ken Messer. The finalists’ work will be on display in the Upper Gallery of the museum in Church Street Wantage for a week.
All finalists will receive £20 in gift vouchers with the overall winner winning a further £50 worth. For the first time all types of art and craft are being included in the competition, not just paintings and the Association is hoping for a wide range of different skills to be showcased including glass engraving, metal work, wood work and embroidery.
Anyone who would like to enter should contact Sian Llewellyn on 01235 536001.
