Involved in Success

The Vale Housing Association has won an award for its work in involvement and equality and diversity at a national award ceremony called Focus Awards for Customer Excellence (FACE). The ceremony was organised by Quality Housing Services, an organisation which promotes standards for quality in housing associations.

The inaugural FACE awards were presented at a special lunch held in London, at which Gyles Brandreth and Shaukat Moledina from the Housing Corporation were guest speakers. The FACE awards were presented to QHS members, who have demonstrated the best level of customer service in various categories. The categories included Customer Care, Neighbourhood Management, Accessibility, Communication and Involvement, along with the Outstanding Contribution award.

The Vale Housing Association won the Involvement award, which included tenant participation, equality and diversity. The Vale received the award for its focus on identifying, understanding and reacting to the needs of customers and using a range of different methods for participation. The association was also nominated for an award in the categories of Accessibility and Communication. Andrew Greenhill, Chief Executive of Quality Housing Services, said: Our first awards were a huge success and marked the commitment of our members to give exceptional service to tenants. A precedent has now been set for further service excellence.

Mike Roberts, Chief Executive at The Vale Housing Association, commented: We’re very pleased that The Vale Housing Association has received this recognition of its work. We try hard to listen to the needs of all our tenants and take their feedback into account when making decisions.
