What is Retirement Accommodation?
The Vale Housing Association offers a range of purpose-built accommodation for the over-60’s. All our accommodation is self-contained, so you can enjoy your own flat with your own front door. This type of accommodation means you can continue to enjoy your independence and your privacy is respected at all times.
Our retirement accommodation receives the benefit of a 24-hour scheme manager service. Scheme managers help you to live independently in your home: they are not there to provide direct care, but they can help you to contact other organisations, fill in forms, or contact a doctor or family if you are ill. When you move in, you will agree with them how often they should visit you; this is a flexible system which can change if you need more or fewer visits as time goes on. All our retirement properties are automatically fitted with a Vale Care Link alarm which you can use to summon help in an emergency.
With a dedicated maintenance service and tended, landscaped gardens, our schemes take away the worry of managing your own property and leave you free to make the most of your retirement.
We have available, or a short waiting list for, properties in Faringdon, Wantage, Abingdon and many surrounding villages.
