Training for staff, Board Members and others working on behalf of the organisation (CP12:V9:22/04/08)
- All new staff to be made aware of the Association’s Environmental Policy and work during their corporate induction briefing by the Communications & Research Assistant. They should be made aware of their role and responsibilities under the EMS and the importance of complying with the standard. Each should be shown a copy of the Environmental Policy, the Association’s Public Statement and the Register of Significant Effects. They should be informed which Effects are relevant to their job.
- Consultants, development staff from Soveriegn Housing Group and agency staff , such as Clerks of Works, who also have a role to play in the Association’s environmental management will also be given an opportunity of an induction.
- Environmental training-needs will be established for all staff, through the existing appraisal process and the Green Team meetings.
- Line managers will be responsible for recording all formal training their staff have undertaken, including internal training of groups of staff. They will forward these records to the Personnel Manager.
- New Board Members will be sent a copy of the Public Statement, which includes the Register of Significant Effects and Policy. The role of the Board in relation to the EMS will be explained.
- Appendix 1 of OP20 outlines the Association’s Site Management Procedure which all contractors are expected to comply with. At pre-contract meetings and site meetings, contractors will confirm that their employees working on our sites have been briefed on this.
