Reviewing the Register of Significant Effects (CP6:V4:01/05/2007)
- The Association carried out a Scoping Review (as detailed in the Association's Good Practice Guide "Implementing an EMS", page 11-13) to determine its Significant Environmental Effects.
- A register of significant effects was subsequently produced including both control and influence effects.
- Objectives will be set in the Environmental Programme which relate to our significant environmental effects and Performance Data will be collected each year to enable us to monitor our impact in these areas.
- The current Register of Significant Effects will be made available to external bodies and the general public through the Public Environmental Policy and Statement and the Public Website. Any changes to this decision will be made by the Green Team and their discussion will be minuted.
- The register will be reviewed on an annual basis or whenever a new corporate activity is undertaken (See Detailed Review in the Good Practice Guide, page 14).
Review in the light of a new corporate activity
- The Managing Director will report new activities to the Green Team who will then carry out a scoping review on that activity.
- They will review the list of Significant Effects in the light of the new activity and decide if the new activity has any significant effects. The Team's discussions will be minuted.
- A detailed Review will be carried out by the Green Team. The finished Review will then be passed on to the Board, together with the Green Team's recommendations on whether to enter the new activity on the Register of Significant Effects. The Board will decide if the new activity should be entered on the Register. Notes of the minutes of Board meetings are kept by the Managing Director.
