Procedure for checking lights are off at the end of the day (OP7:V4:10/08/04)
Responsibility
- Cleaners, all members of Association staff, security staff, Duty Officer.
Action
- Wantage Office - A cleaner comes in every weekday as the office shuts, and it is their responsibility to turn off all the lights as they leave. It is easy to see at a glance whether any lights are left on. No lights are left on for security
- Abingdon Office - The cleaners and caretakers are responsible for checking all lights are switched off at night after they have finished work. If staff are in the office for evening meetings then it is their responsibility to do this.
- Hanney Office - The last people out of the stores and the office building each night, are responsible for going round the building ensure all lights (other than security lights) are switched off, before they lock up. After the cleaners have finished their work each weekday evening they must switch any lights they have turned on, back off.
- All new members of staff and cleaners will have their responsibilities for this procedure explained to them when they are appointed.
- All members of staff are responsible for turning off their up-lighters and dish lights at the end of each day or if they are going to be out of the office
